Each class begins with a light warm up and proceeds into basic and functional strength training exercises that help improve muscle tone, balance, and coordination. The class utilizes a variety of workout aids such as hand weights and resistance bands/tubing (not provided nor required for participation in the class) as well as other aids such as chairs, weighted ball, floor ladder and a bench step (all provided) to keep the class stimulating and fun. This program focuses on learning a variety of Chi Kung sets and postures, primarily those from Grandmaster Mantak Chi’s Healing Tao system. Come strengthen your body, regulate and build physical energy, and cultivate your mental concentration and spirit. The program also includes the practice of Yang style Tai Chi. Does your child love to knit or do they want to learn?  If so, this program will teach them how to or improve their knitting skills, while enjoying the fun of knitting with a group.  This program will offer the basics for first timers, as well as provide early and intermediate knitters with specific how-to’s and help with projects. Also, a great class for artists focused on other media (drawing, painting) yet curious about how to incorporate found images into their work. We will learn to develop interesting surfaces while building a back story for your collage and getting your piece ready for display. Expand your knowledge of collage making and let your imagination soar in a supportive and friendly environment. Get fit and learn to defend yourself with this blend of kickboxing, wrestling, and jiu-jitsu.  All levels are welcome, from beginners to experienced athletes, in a fun, focused environment.  Technique emphasis will be on adapting MMA for self-defense, including dealing with armed attackers.Instructor: 
 
7:00 PM - 8:00 PM    Violin- Adults, Beginner II - Viola or Violin for Adults
This is a beginners class. Students are expected to have basic working knowledge of how to play violin. Students should know the basics of reading music. If you have played violin in the past and wish to take this class, please email the instructor prior to registering to find out if this class is appropriate for your skill level.Practice.  You need to plan to practice on your own at home at least 15-20 minutes, 3-5 days a week. On the first day we will go over the proper way to practice in order to effectively learn and retain material we cover each week.   The book we use in the program is included in the registration fee.  Once registered, the instructor needs an email letting her know which instrument you plan to learn so the appropriate book will be available for you on the first day. You must have your instrument for the first day.  If you don’t already own an instrument,  contact the instructor for information on obtaining one prior to purchasing or renting. Some instruments on online will not be suitable for this program.  Instructor: Sharon WaxmanBio: Originally from New Jersey, she began playing piano at age 5. At age 11 she added viola lessons and was recognized by her teacher as a natural at the instrument. After 6 months of study, she was accepted in the South Jersey Regional Orchestra.  At age 13, the Interlochen Arts Festival in Interlochen, Michigan welcomed her as a performer, and later that same year, she earned a place in the prestigious Juilliard School’s Pre-College program in New York City.   She currently is a member of the Montpelier Chamber Orchestra.  Sharon plays an asymmetric- cornerless viola made by the Canadian luthier, John Newton. She has studied with: Elizabeth Reid, Melissa Hullman, Jerzy Kosmala, Eugene Becker, and Dorothy Sobieski.

(GMTC Online Waiver must be completed prior to first class.  Link below)Is your child a tumbler?  Do they like to roll around, balance and climb?  If so, this gymnastic program is just for them.  Green Mountain Training Center is offering an introductory gymnastics program for the new and beginner gymnasts.  It is a great opportunity for your child to try out the sport and learn basic skills, while building strength, flexibility and coordination.  Children will be separated by age groups.  Note:     Not all apparatus will be worked on each class.     Typically children will get to 2 or 3 events each class time.      Program is held at Green Mountain Training Center.     Children should dress in comfortable clothing to be active in.      Children will be split into groups based on age.     A GMTC Digital Waiver must be filled out prior to the First class.  (Link below)Instructors: Green Mountain Training Center Staff

Join Amber Leventry for one or more sessions that will break down the stigma and confusion around LGBTQ and gender identity topics. Amber is a nonbinary queer writer, advocate, and parent. They have worked with schools to make curriculum LGBTQ inclusive and affirming and have spoken on panels and taught workshops to help people become better informed allies.Each session will provide education as well as the chance to ask questions and have candid and respectful conversations. You can register for the series of workshops, all 4 or you can register for separate sessions.SESSIONS:LGBTQ: What Do All Of Those Letters Mean?You will learn the meaning of each letter in the rainbow alphabet. Amber will also dig into terms like gender identity, gender expression, and sexuality and how these elements of who we are intersect to make us uniquely perfect. You will also take home an understanding of the importance of supporting healthy gender development in our kids.Being Transgender Amber will break down what being transgender means and what it looks like for different people. Amber will also debunk many myths around the subject, specifically in regards to bathrooms, transgender kids, and ways people may choose to transition. You will go home with a greater appreciation for gender identity and what it means when our parts don’t line up with our brains and hearts. How Do I Talk To Kids About LGBTQ Topics?Amber will give parents and community members the tools and confidence to talk to kids about what it means to be gay, transgender, and gender nonconforming. You will learn tips on ways to answer kids’ questions, start conversations about sexuality and gender, and foster a love of diversity. Amber will also discuss the significance of accepting and affirming our kids’ LGBTQ identity and the risks of not doing so. Making Learning Spaces LGBTQ InclusiveJoin Amber for an open discussion on the importance of using inclusive and non-gendered language in classrooms, sports arenas and playing fields, and extracurricular activities. Changing the way we speak to and interact with students is paramount to their learning, their self-esteem, their sense of self, and their safety. Providing more inclusive spaces is valuable for parents and caregivers too; it allows marginalized adults to feel respected and seen. Educators and coaches may be the only resource for parents of queer, transgender, gender nonconforming, and non-binary kids. Want to learn to kick butt while having a ton of fun? Dangerous Girls is a women-only cardio-kickboxing class that combines strength and conditioning with practical combat skills. Hear the crack of your elbow striking like a lighting bolt. Learn trips and throws to send opponents crashing to the ground. Bounce to Beyonce, hit hard, laugh a lot, and become a force to be reckoned with in a female centered space. The program runs for 6 weeks at twice per week, giving you 12 classes for the price of 10. Each class begins with a light warm up and proceeds into basic and functional strength training exercises that help improve muscle tone, balance, and coordination. The class utilizes a variety of workout aids such as hand weights and resistance bands/tubing (not provided nor required for participation in the class) as well as other aids such as chairs, weighted ball, floor ladder and a bench step (all provided) to keep the class stimulating and fun. This 6-week class covers all you need to:     Understand Your Dog- by learning how your dog communicates and why they do what they do. This includes our powerful program for building a confident, socially-savvy dog.     Have A Well-Behaved Dog- Yes, we cover the basic obedience training--walking nicely on leash, coming when called, and more--using a simple training approach you can use long after the class ends.     Bond With Your Dog- through gentle touch techniques, fun games, and understanding your dog's unique personality.Great for wiggly new puppies, newly adopted rescue dogs, or any humans and dogs who want help with the basics. Get fit and learn to defend yourself with this blend of kickboxing, wrestling, and jiu-jitsu.  All levels are welcome, from beginners to experienced athletes, in a fun, focused environment.  Technique emphasis will be on adapting MMA for self-defense, including dealing with armed attackers.Instructor:

This is a beginners class. Students are expected to have basic working knowledge of how to play violin. Students should know the basics of reading music. If you have played violin in the past and wish to take this class, please email the instructor prior to registering to find out if this class is appropriate for your skill level.Practice.  You need to plan to practice on your own at home at least 15-20 minutes, 3-5 days a week. On the first day we will go over the proper way to practice in order to effectively learn and retain material we cover each week.   The book we use in the program is included in the registration fee.  Once registered, the instructor needs an email letting her know which instrument you plan to learn so the appropriate book will be available for you on the first day. You must have your instrument for the first day.  If you don’t already own an instrument,  contact the instructor for information on obtaining one prior to purchasing or renting. Some instruments on online will not be suitable for this program.  Instructor: Sharon WaxmanBio: Originally from New Jersey, she began playing piano at age 5. At age 11 she added viola lessons and was recognized by her teacher as a natural at the instrument. After 6 months of study, she was accepted in the South Jersey Regional Orchestra.  At age 13, the Interlochen Arts Festival in Interlochen, Michigan welcomed her as a performer, and later that same year, she earned a place in the prestigious Juilliard School’s Pre-College program in New York City.   She currently is a member of the Montpelier Chamber Orchestra.  Sharon plays an asymmetric- cornerless viola made by the Canadian luthier, John Newton. She has studied with: Elizabeth Reid, Melissa Hullman, Jerzy Kosmala, Eugene Becker, and Dorothy Sobieski.

Join Amber Leventry for one or more sessions that will break down the stigma and confusion around LGBTQ and gender identity topics. Amber is a nonbinary queer writer, advocate, and parent. They have worked with schools to make curriculum LGBTQ inclusive and affirming and have spoken on panels and taught workshops to help people become better informed allies.Each session will provide education as well as the chance to ask questions and have candid and respectful conversations. You can register for the series of workshops, all 4 or you can register for separate sessions.SESSIONS:LGBTQ: What Do All Of Those Letters Mean?You will learn the meaning of each letter in the rainbow alphabet. Amber will also dig into terms like gender identity, gender expression, and sexuality and how these elements of who we are intersect to make us uniquely perfect. You will also take home an understanding of the importance of supporting healthy gender development in our kids.Being Transgender Amber will break down what being transgender means and what it looks like for different people. Amber will also debunk many myths around the subject, specifically in regards to bathrooms, transgender kids, and ways people may choose to transition. Each class begins with a light warm up and proceeds into basic and functional strength training exercises that help improve muscle tone, balance, and coordination. His teachers include Brent Hamby, a former student of Kwan Saihung and Wong Jack Man, and Grandmaster Mantak Chia. Want to learn to kick butt while having a ton of fun? Dangerous Girls is a women-only cardio-kickboxing class that combines strength and conditioning with practical combat skills. Hear the crack of your elbow striking like a lighting bolt. Learn trips and throws to send opponents crashing to the ground. Bounce to Beyonce, hit hard, laugh a lot, and become a force to be reckoned with in a female centered space. The program runs for 6 weeks at twice per week, giving you 12 classes for the price of 10. This is a beginners class. Students are expected to have basic working knowledge of how to play violin. Students should know the basics of reading music. If you have played violin in the past and wish to take this class, please email the instructor prior to registering to find out if this class is appropriate for your skill level.Practice.  You need to plan to practice on your own at home at least 15-20 minutes, 3-5 days a week. On the first day we will go over the proper way to practice in order to effectively learn and retain material we cover each week.   The book we use in the program is included in the registration fee.  Once registered, the instructor needs an email letting her know which instrument you plan to learn so the appropriate book will be available for you on the first day. You must have your instrument for the first day.  If you don’t already own an instrument,  contact the instructor for information on obtaining one prior to purchasing or renting. Some instruments on online will not be suitable for this program.  Instructor: Sharon WaxmanBio: Originally from New Jersey, she began playing piano at age 5. At age 11 she added viola lessons and was recognized by her teacher as a natural at the instrument. After 6 months of study, she was accepted in the South Jersey Regional Orchestra.  At age 13, the Interlochen Arts Festival in Interlochen, Michigan welcomed her as a performer, and later that same year, she earned a place in the prestigious Juilliard School’s Pre-College program in New York City.   She currently is a member of the Montpelier Chamber Orchestra.  Sharon plays an asymmetric- cornerless viola made by the Canadian luthier, John Newton. She has studied with: Elizabeth Reid, Melissa Hullman, Jerzy Kosmala, Eugene Becker, and Dorothy Sobieski.

Want to learn to kick butt while having a ton of fun? Dangerous Girls is a women-only cardio-kickboxing class that combines strength and conditioning with practical combat skills. Bounce to Beyonce, hit hard, laugh a lot, and become a force to be reckoned with in a female centered space. The program runs for 6 weeks at twice per week, giving you 12 classes for the price of 10. This 6-week class covers all you need to:     Understand Your Dog- by learning how your dog communicates and why they do what they do. This includes our powerful program for building a confident, socially-savvy dog.     Have A Well-Behaved Dog- Yes, we cover the basic obedience training--walking nicely on leash, coming when called, and more--using a simple training approach you can use long after the class ends.     Bond With Your Dog- through gentle touch techniques, fun games, and understanding your dog's unique personality.Great for wiggly new puppies, newly adopted rescue dogs, or any humans and dogs who want help with the basics. This is a beginners class. Students are expected to have basic working knowledge of how to play violin. Students should know the basics of reading music. If you have played violin in the past and wish to take this class, please email the instructor prior to registering to find out if this class is appropriate for your skill level.Practice.  You need to plan to practice on your own at home at least 15-20 minutes, 3-5 days a week. On the first day we will go over the proper way to practice in order to effectively learn and retain material we cover each week.   The book we use in the program is included in the registration fee.  Once registered, the instructor needs an email letting her know which instrument you plan to learn so the appropriate book will be available for you on the first day. You must have your instrument for the first day.  If you don’t already own an instrument,  contact the instructor for information on obtaining one prior to purchasing or renting. Some instruments on online will not be suitable for this program.  Instructor: Sharon WaxmanBio: Originally from New Jersey, she began playing piano at age 5. At age 11 she added viola lessons and was recognized by her teacher as a natural at the instrument. After 6 months of study, she was accepted in the South Jersey Regional Orchestra.  At age 13, the Interlochen Arts Festival in Interlochen, Michigan welcomed her as a performer, and later that same year, she earned a place in the prestigious Juilliard School’s Pre-College program in New York City.   She currently is a member of the Montpelier Chamber Orchestra.  Sharon plays an asymmetric- cornerless viola made by the Canadian luthier, John Newton. She has studied with: Elizabeth Reid, Melissa Hullman, Jerzy Kosmala, Eugene Becker, and Dorothy Sobieski.

Later he trained Judo in Chicago, Sanda Kickboxing, Tai Chi, and Chi Kung in California, Pekiti Tirsia and Dogbrothers Kali in Argentina, Taoist meditations, Chi Kung, and Tao Yin in Thailand, and Brazilian Jujitsu in England. His teachers include Brent Hamby, a former student of Kwan Saihung and Wong Jack Man, and Grandmaster Mantak Chia. He believes that both hard and soft styles of martial arts should be available to everyone to be practiced at all stages of life. He believes that when learning is fun it can last a lifetime!

Come in and try a four week introduction to kids Martial Arts programs.  The kids classes help girls and boys realize their full potential in an environment that is playful, supportive, and fun. The play based curriculum of tumbling, parkour, and martial arts increases kids' strength and self-confidence and our moving meditation series helps kids manage their emotions as well as develop and understand the connection between their mental and physical well-being.Register for one time from the 4 times per week that are offered. Calling all 'Golden' aged people 50 and up!  Come join a fun aerobic workout that will have you grooving to the oldies as well as some current fun music.  The class will get your heart pumping and have you smiling from ear to ear.  The class structure is easy to follow and welcomes any ability level as the moves can be done to higher or lower intensity.  Not only will you reap the benefits of cardio training, you will see improvements in balance, coordination and mood, while having fun with peers.  Instructor: Toni KunkerBio:Toni is a certified land, aqua, and senior fitness instructor, personal trainer, and 3rd Degree Black Belt, with 30 years teaching experience in the fitness industry.  She has worked with a variety of populations ranging from children, teens, developmentally disabled adults, adults, and seniors.  Toni loves all things health and fitness.  She enjoys spending time with her family and rescue dogs, being outdoors xc and downhill skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, running, as well as exploring the arts through dance, music and arts and crafts.  What to Bring:Water bottle (recommended but not required as we have paper cups and access to water)Hand weights (not required or necessary but if you'd like more resistance bring a light set of weights - we have extras to loan)Ball (not required or necessary.  We do have some to loan out.  Kid size ball that are sold at the supermarket and cost approx $2).What to Wear:Comfortable loose fitting clothing you can move in as well as sturdy shoes (sneakers recommended).Program is held at the Federated Church- 44 North Williston Road     Mondays       10:15-11:15am     Year Round Program

Want to learn to kick butt while having a ton of fun? Dangerous Girls is a women-only cardio-kickboxing class that combines strength and conditioning with practical combat skills. Hear the crack of your elbow striking like a lighting bolt. Learn trips and throws to send opponents crashing to the ground. Bounce to Beyonce, hit hard, laugh a lot, and become a force to be reckoned with in a female centered space. The program runs for 6 weeks at twice per week, giving you 12 classes for the price of 10. Also, a great class for artists focused on other media (drawing, painting) yet curious about how to incorporate found images into their work. We will learn to develop interesting surfaces while building a back story for your collage and getting your piece ready for display. Expand your knowledge of collage making and let your imagination soar in a supportive and friendly environment. This 6-week class covers all you need to:     Understand Your Dog- by learning how your dog communicates and why they do what they do. This includes our powerful program for building a confident, socially-savvy dog.     Have A Well-Behaved Dog- Yes, we cover the basic obedience training--walking nicely on leash, coming when called, and more--using a simple training approach you can use long after the class ends.     Bond With Your Dog- through gentle touch techniques, fun games, and understanding your dog's unique personality.Great for wiggly new puppies, newly adopted rescue dogs, or any humans and dogs who want help with the basics.
