Need a Ukulele?
The Dorothy Alling Memorial Library has Ukuleles (4) for loan. Contact the library directly to see if any are available, and if so, how you can get one to use during a program.
Sing and play your favorite tunes and learn some strumming and chording tricks and techniques along the way. The first 45 minutes will focus on easy songs for beginners. The final 45 will be anything goes, from easy-peasy to challenging. It's a fun opportunity to lift your spirits and improve your playing. Anyone can join with any instrument or just sing along. Between songs, I'll answer questions about ukulele technique to help you grow your abilities as we go. Don't be shy - everyone but the song leaders will be muted (except during 'tween-song discussion). This is a great chance to improve your skills and laugh and play. All chords and lyrics will be screen-shared. If you would like to lead a song, please email me at least 2 days in advance and include the song sheet, which I'll share. In all sessions, the goal will be to have as much fun as possible!
Wednesdays, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.
June 2, July 7 & August 4
Cost: $5 per Shenanigan
Registration: Email email@example.com and let me know which date/s you'd like to sign up for.
DEEP DIVE SONG WORKSHOPS
We'll have fun focusing on one song in each workshop and learning how to coax out the emotion, the nuance, the flavor. We'll practice peeling away the layers of melody, lyrics, and rhythm to find YOUR way of playing the song. Some of the songs that we will focus on will be easy-peasy, some challenging -- and we'll see how each song leads us to use different tools and techniques to express it. It will help greatly for you to be able to switch with relative ease among these chords: Am, C, Dm, Em, E7, F, G, G7. NOTE: We don't cover baritone chords in this class. Sign up for any or all of the workshops. Geared for adults age 18+.
Every other Tuesday in June, July & August
Cost: $10 each workshop session (all six for $50) via Paypal, Venmo, or check
Registration: Email firstname.lastname@example.org and let me know which dates you'd like to sign up for. You'll get payment info, a Zoom link to the workshop, a song packet, and a session filled with laughter and exploration.

June 8: "Morning Has Broken"
June 22: "Gentle on My Mind"
July 13: "With a Little Help From My Friends"
